“France strongly condemns the attack which took place on the 16th of February in Quetta, Baluchistan. This attack which targeted the Shia Hazara community resulted, according to the latest estimates, in the loss of more than 80 lives and wounded around 200 persons. Within this harrowing context, France wishes to associate itself to the mourning of the victims’ relatives. France assures the Pakistani people of its solidarity and stands on their side in the fight against terrorism.

France is concerned by the increased targeting of ethnic and religious minorities in Pakistan. An attack already targeted the Shia Hazaras of Quetta on the 10th of January 2013. France calls for the Pakistani authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of its population and fight against all extremist groups present on its territory.”
