Franco-Chinese relations developing "steadily and swiftly"

China/economic and financial partnerships – Joint declaration (excerpts)

Paris, 30 June 2015

I. On the invitation of Manuel Valls, Prime Minister of the French Republic, Li Keqiang, Premier of the Council of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, paid an official visit to France from 29 June to 2 July 2015.

The governments of the two countries would like to continue and strengthen their efforts to implement the Joint declaration between the French Republic and the People’s Republic of China for a new stage in the close, solid, comprehensive, strategic Franco-Chinese partnership and the Cooperation plan for medium- and long-term Franco-Chinese relations in March 2014. Franco-Chinese relations are developing steadily and swiftly. High-level strategic, economic and financial dialogue and high-level dialogue on people-to-people exchanges have enabled practical cooperation to be established and exchanges between France and China to be deepened.

II. Currently, the global economy is still in a phase of profound readjustment following the international financial crisis and is facing many challenges. The international community must continue to show solidarity, actively further structural reforms and embark on innovative forms of cooperation to support robust, shared and inclusive global economic growth. In this regard, France and China have a significant responsibility. The two countries must play an active role together to ensure the global economy stabilizes and recovers, encourage the development of different regions of the world and support developing countries in implementing the United Nations Development Programme for the post-2015 period.
