France condemns killings of polio campaign workers [fr]

“France strongly condemns the multiple attacks which took place on the 17th, 18th and 19th of December targeting workers of the anti-poliomyelitis vaccination campaign in Pakistan. According to the latest estimates, nine lives have been lost so far.

France invites the Pakistani government to continue tracking the perpetrators of those terrorist attacks and to strengthen the security measures surrounding this campaign.

France reiterates its support to all staff and humanitarian organisations on the ground which, with the support of local governments, of the World Health Organisation and of United Nations Children’s Fund, commit daily to this vaccination campaign required for the protection of Pakistani children.”
